Presenting the next step after CCUS — transforming captured CO₂ into valuable fuels and materials
At this year’s Carbon Capture Technology Expo North America in Houston, the Syklea team had the pleasure of presenting our work under a headline that reflects our mission: CO₂ to Fuels.
We extend our thanks to the Trans-Global Events team for their invitation and for hosting such a dynamic gathering of innovators, industrial leaders, and technology developers shaping the future of carbon management.
During the event, Dr Pierre Calleja presented Syklea’s strategic vision: while carbon capture and storage (CCS) helps reduce emissions, the next frontier lies in carbon utilization (CCU) — transforming CO₂ into fuels, materials, and bio-based molecules with real industrial value.
Our patented No Water Technology™, combined with our microalgae biosynthesis platform, unlocks new pathways for producing liquid hydrocarbons directly from CO₂, paving the way for sustainable alternatives in aviation, chemicals, and heavy industry.
Throughout the expo, we had the opportunity to meet numerous partners and experts from across North America. The high level of interest and engagement confirmed what we already observe globally:
the shift from carbon capture to carbon utilization is accelerating, and collaboration across the value chain is now essential.
